MAY 6, 2017 Fourth Sunday of Easter (cycle A) Good Shepherd Sunday

Thank You, Lord. Thank You for being our Good Shepherd. Thank You for laying down Your life for us. I know that was the hardest part.  But we are so grateful to the Father for raising You up, so that we know there is hope. There is life beyond this grave.  It is so important Lord for our sense of well being, no matter what goes wrong in our life, we know the ending.  And it is glorious!  But Lord God, like You were saying last week, some of the most difficult times are really so important in our life. Trials were needed to know – trials to be patient with others –  to get along with others. That’s well and good Lord, that’s nice to know, but it’s still a pain to put up with.  And yet Lord, what keeps us going, what keeps us putting one foot in front of the other, if we know that you’re at the end of the race. YOU ARE THE PRIZE! You are the one who opens the gates of heaven for us. A great prize!

One Jewish concept of life after death is that they go to the home of their ancestors. I know that they can totally believe what they want, but based on the Books of Chronicles, Kings, Samuel, they went to the home of their ancestors. Which is great!   The home of my ancestors is going to my grandma’s house on a Sunday afternoon, eating her fried chicken, with all the relatives gathered round, about 25 people every Sunday. It was awesome! A great time!  There were a lot of family arguments there.  Yes. (laugh) It was a great time, cause you were loved there.  No matter what, you were always loved, cause it was family.

When You opened of the gates with millions of human beings, when You were resurrected in 29 or 33 AD and all those people waiting in line for those gates to open – shepherds who laid down their lives for their flock –  ancient warriors who were fighting for what they believed was at least a good cause, keeping themselves alive so they could get home to their families or helping their buddy stay alive so they could get home to their families.  All those who laid down their lives for someone else, Lord, whoever those people were – probably millions –  maybe not so much at that time  AND THE GATES OPENED!  You were the shepherd on the other side opening those gates to paradise.  AND THEY ALL WALKED THROUGH.

Now when we die, we all walk through those same gates.  YOUR Gift of Love “NO GREATER LOVE“.   Not just one human being to another, but because You were Divine.  But Divinity in human form could actually lay down Divinity’s Life.  Actually do that for mere cosmic specks of dust, which humanity is and this planet is in the vastness of this universe.  Cosmic Dust – And You did that. Thank You so much Lord and we’re so grateful. We can smile through our troubles. Thank You Lord.  (praying in tongues)

My sweet little children, you have no idea how precious you are to me.  More than when a mama holds her baby and the love just fills her or when a Daddy plays with his little ones and his heart is singing inside.  So much more than that, this Divine Love. Yes, there’s a vastness of the universe, maybe, maybe, it seems like you’re cosmic dust, but that’s how great Divine Love is.  Divine Love sees Love within every human being.  You were created in Love and I recognize that Love that I put there.   And don’t underestimate that Love I put there!  It is powerful and it draws Me and it keeps Me with you!  It is a strong, strong force,  stronger than anything I created! It’s Me.   Love is Me.   It’s the essence of Who I AM.   And do not underestimate it.   Do not underestimate that Love.   I’d lay down life, I’d do it all again in an instant.  My Love is beyond your understanding. Don’t even try to comprehend, just accept.   And know that it’s just Me burning within you – seeking My love within you to make it grow – increase your happiness.   For you are already one with Me.   And your joy will be complete.   I will make it so.    (praying in tongues
